Solis Mexican Foods

Elsie and Juvenal Solis were born in Mexico and brought their tradition of making great tortillas to Canada and in 1981 started Solis Mexican Foods, Inc in Aylmer, Ontario. They found that Canadian wheat and corn made delicious tortillas and were popular among the local Mexican residents and farm workers. Their popularity didn’t stay a secret and spread quickly around the town and soon customers were starting to come from all over the place.

In 1996 Elsie and Juvenal sold Solis to Andy Vivian and retired in Aylmer. The plant moved a little north to St Marys to allow for expansion as the popularity of Solis tortillas grew.
Two expansions later and Solis had grown into a 45,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility.

In October 2006 Solis completed the purchase of the tremendously popular MexiCasa brand of Nachos, Salsa, Cheese Sauces, and other related Mexican condiments. Later that same year Solis also purchased the Pablo & Pepe taco shell and taco kit manufacturing facility in Montreal. By the end of 2006 Solis had become "Your Ultimate Mexican Solution."

We are also proud of our leadership in manufacturing products that are made with no artificial flavours or spices and are trans fat free.
